Hey folks, I hope all is well.
So I’m back on my publishing schedule. July was a tough month for me. First, it started off well, I celebrated my 35th birthday, took a vacation, but as life would have it, good things don’t last forever.
When I return home from vacation, I was sick for a week, then it just trickled down to the kids. They get sick one after another, so we’ve just been dealing with a sick house all of July.
But I still found some fire content that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
This week we’re all about the mindset.
How a person thinks is one of those determining factors that can dictate how far you go in life. You can take sports and see how valuable a person’s mindset is. It’s even easier to see who separates themselves through their mentality.
If I mentioned basketball, Mamba Mentality comes to my mind and especially the Micheal Jordan doc that aired on ESPN, The Last Dance. Business is no different, we can look at our superstar entrepreneurs and we can all see there are characteristics that separate them from the rest of us.
That’s why I’m enamored by the “Greats” and what they did and do to get to where they are at the top. A few months ago I watched this Tiger Woods Documentary on HBO, and it was amazing. We have a tendency to see these great athletes or entrepreneurs and put them on a pedestal because of their greatness.
We think they’ve been blessed by God with this outlier skillset, which is true to a certain degree, but what I think really separates them is the sacrifice, dedication, and work ethic.
What I try to do, is not idolize these people, but understand that they are people just like you and me. But understand that, they do certain things that I can incorporate into my life. Maybe it’s the study or the attention to detail, but ultimately, I don’t think just because you admire Kobe, Michael, or Elon Musk, that you should try to be like them. Most of the time these people are wired differently. And that’s okay.
On the spectrum of success, you don’t have to be these guys to be successful. My thing is to study greatness and take what you can use. The rest– just use it for inspiration.
Okay, let’s dive in and let me know if you find anything that’s interesting to you.

Coaches and athletes are amazing people to study, night in and night out these people perform. You start to see the ones that set themselves apart from the pack by the way they deal with adversity, the late pressure-filled situations, and we all notice who’s the most consistent.
One of the most underrated people in an organization is the coach. Coaches can have a tremendous impact on a person. Their leadership has a direct relationship with the performance of the player and more importantly, a good coach helps develop a person off the field. At this very moment, I can think of a couple of coaches that I’ve had, that have had a profound impact on my life.
So this is a good, one I could appreciate listening to this one.

You gotta check out Wallo on Tom Bilyeu’s podcast Impact Theory. Wallo tells it like it is, I was very much impressed with his mindset, the drive to learn, the imagination. It’s like he served his time in prison, but was able to see the opportunity that was waiting for him. Really, you just got to listen to this episode, there are no excuses.
In and out of jail since the age of 11, Wallo served 20 years in prison. And he actually served all 20 years, just amazing to hear his story and his mindset.
